Along with its annual Color Trends palette, Behr Paint selected its first-ever color of the year for 2018 – In The Moment T18-15 – at a pop-up trend home in Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal. The tranquil, spruce blue color will command the home décorand paint industry next year, according to the company’s color and design experts. “In The Moment speaks to our society’s desire to disconnect and be present,” said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services at Behr.“Spruce blue, soft gray and lush green coalesce into a fresh shade that evokes a sense of sanctuary and relaxation amid our always-on lives. In The Moment crosses multiple design styles – global, coastal, modern – and pairs well with other subdued colors to create harmony for interiors or exteriors.” Behr said it chose Grand Central Terminal – the pop-up home was on display from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 9 – to “[serve] as a welcomed respite for commuters to pause, be present and find calm through color.” The “mid-commute”introduction, added Chief Marketing Officer Jodi Allen, “show[s] how the intentional use of fresh, tranquil color in the home can serve as an antidote to a stressful day and turn any space into your personal sanctuary.” One of 20 new hues, In The Moment is part of a new palette that Behr said “captures the ever-evolving perception of home”and the colors – ranging from neutrals to reds and oranges – “serve as a catalyst to rejuvenate the spirit, inspire joy, restore balance and stimulate an overall sense of well-being” The others: · Positively Pink T18-01 · Civara T18-02 · Graylac T18-03 · Nocture Shade T18-04 · Life Is Good T18-05 · Kombucha T18-06 · Road Less-Traveled T18-07 · Off The Grid T18-08 · Soft Focus T18-09 · Wabi-Sabi T18-10 · Unplugged T18-11 · Spirit Warrior T18-12 · Casual Day T18-13 · Soul Search T18-14 · Nurturing T18-16 · Wide Sky T18-17 · Constellation Blue T18-18 · Quiet Time T18-19 · Equilibrium T18-20 Behr’s 2018 Color Trends are available exclusively at Home Depot stores across America.
